From the day my father opened our family shop in 1958 to when I took over the business in 1995, we enjoyed nearly three decades of continued success.
Our History
Our Journey
We moved into the Debden shop in 1988 when I was just 19. It was refitted as a self-service greengrocers, and the business quickly grew, with footfall and turnover reaching levels we never imagined. However, with the rise of Sunday supermarket openings, increased competition, and local parking issues, things began to decline by 2005. This downturn coincided with the passing of my father, leaving me to face many challenges at a young age.
Through hard work and long hours, I managed to keep the shop running. I launched a delivery service, even selling my car to purchase my first van. It was a turbulent journey - balancing family life and the demands of the business - but it taught me resilience. Along the way, I was fortunate to work with many dedicated staff members, and I’m incredibly grateful for their loyalty and support in helping us achieve our goals.
We pursued SALSA accreditation, and the business began to grow once again - this time beyond what we could have anticipated. In 2020, we had the opportunity to build a warehouse on a local farm in Abridge, marking a major step forward.
Although the COVID-19 pandemic delayed our progress, we have now completed the warehouse, including refrigerated units and office space. We are proud to have a purpose-built facility that supports the next stage of our growth—offering secure storage and distribution services alongside the wholesale delivery operation we continue to provide.

We proudly supply a wide range of clients across London and Essex, including independent restaurants, catering companies, private chefs, and large-scale food producers. Our customer base also includes suppliers for sushi outlets and ready-meal manufacturers serving the supermarket industry, as well as educational institutions such as schools and colleges.
